A knowledgeable, safety-conscious team is central to the way InterState works. In this 2023 company update, we described the training, equipment care and operating practices behind that commitment.
Learning Throughout a Career
Our approach begins with employee training and continues through on-site instruction, certifications relevant to the role and opportunities for improvement. The goal is to help employees develop the knowledge and skills they need as industry practices and requirements evolve.
Taking Care of Equipment
Equipment inspections help identify damage, wear and items that need attention. When equipment does not meet the standards required for its use, the team works to address the issue. Dependable equipment supports both our people and the customers who rely on our services.
Equipping People for the Work
Protective equipment—including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves and high-visibility vests—is part of preparing people for their responsibilities. Safety procedures apply in the field as well as behind the scenes. Appropriate tools and protective gear support those procedures.
Working Within Industry Requirements
The original update highlighted electronic logging requirements, U.S. Department of Transportation standards and California Highway Patrol requirements. Compliance responsibilities vary by activity and equipment; they are part of the ongoing work of operating a fuel business.
A Commitment We Share
As a family-owned company, we care about our employees, customers and communities. Training, equipment care and continued improvement serve a simple goal: helping every member of our team return home safely each day.
